Evangelism not Politics is the Answer

The election of Democratic control of the House and Senate have dismayed many Christians. Bush's chances of appointing more conservative Supreme Court Judges are now dashed. Our military in Iraq may be pulled, while our borders are insecure.

When Bill Clinton left office and the Republicans gained control of the House and Senate for the first time in many decades, there was an expectant hope for change. Yet time after time when they had the chance to make change they did not. Discouragment in the hope of the Republican party making a difference set in quickly. When the assault of 9/11 hit our shores unity gathered momentum. But when the President refused to call a spade a spade and acknowledge that this is a religious war of the Islamic world, and not just terrorist groups, discouragement came again.

When Newt Gingrich made his "Contract With America", I fell into the Republican camp of active support. However, after 2 terms of the Clinton adminstration being controlled by Republicans in both the House and Senate, I became discouraged by their incredible ineptness and spinelessness. I realized that it made no difference whether the politicians were Republican or Democrat, because the same agenda was being advanced.

Why did so many vote against the Republicans? Because many mores Americans are realizing that there is no difference between the Republicans and the Democrats. They are the same party with different skins. In fact, I am told that government is larger and the national debt greater because of the Republicans. Mark Foley and Ted Haggert are only the tips of the iceberg that disgusted so many conservative evangelical christians.

In this last year it has become more common knowlege that the reason amnesty was given to illegal aliens is because the President has made an agreement without the consent of Congress to form the North American Union between Mexico, the USA and Canada. The NAFTA superhighways are being planned which will allow anyone to freely come into our country, and will most likely be a massive abuse of Eminent Domain as the government will take the private property away from American citizens. There is no wonder that so many voters voted for independent canidates which gave control of the country back to the Democrats.

The growth of a global government is rapidly moving forward. On the one hand we know there are clear biblical prophecies that are coming to pass. On the other hand, the question remains, "How does the Lord want us to respond to these things?" There seems to be a passive acceptance of prophecies as though the prophecies are God's will. This, however, is not so. If it were God's will for a one world government to come into existence, then He would not have confused the tongues at the Tower of Babel. Prophecy shows the results of the confluence of the free will of mankind and the sovereign will of God. As believers, we are to determine on a point by point basis which is which. On the point of a world government (apart from the one led by Jesus) it is clear that it is not God's will. Therefore we are to act in accordance with the Lord's leading in our lives.

This caused a rage and fury to grow within me when I saw the uselessness of political action. It came to a point where I realized that my walk with Christ was being compromised. Christians have been sold a bill of goods in the government churches. This expression "government churches" is one that Christ used in a comment to me when I was passing a building used by a professional clergy. We are citizens of the government of God. The governments of Earth are not our governments. Christ owns the Earth, both by right of Creation and Redemption. We are told in the parable of the talents to "occupy" until He comes.

In other words we should be living according to Kingdom of God, not the kingdoms of men. Laws by men that do not agree with the Laws of God, are no laws at all. Rebellion and anarchy, of course, are not in accordance with the Kingdom of God. We should be wise as serpents, yet harmless as doves.

The U.S. government as set up by the Founding Fathers, is not the Kingdom of God, either. However, they understood that all governments should be subject to the Kingdom of God, so they set it up as the best possible system to be subservient to the true Kingdom. Team Law's call of God is to encourage Americans to get their feet back on the original government of our nation. Their narration of how it is being stolen from us by a century and a half is only intended to help us retrace our steps back to its beginning.

We should disentangle ourselves as much as we can from the control of this foreign government which is a private business that has its control over us not by constitutional mandate, but contractual consensus. Our contractual agreement with them may be through personal ignorance, but that is not excused by Law.

We all face Christ in judgement. We will not be allowed to have a lawyer represent us. Nor wil a professional pastor. Nor a professional accountant. In other words, God expects us to be responsible to Him by ourselves, we are also responsible for every agreement of entanglement we have with others who wish to control us.

Bottom line: we should disentangle ourselves as much as we legally can from this government, not to change it, but to free us so we may better serve Christ. Our serving Christ in true freedom will do more good for this world, then all the political or military efforts we might join ourselves to. Christ will establish His Kingdom on Earth. We all would love to see the USA as a subordinate nation under His rule, but that is out of our hands.

We have been fooled into thinking that legislation is the answer. It never has been. We have forgotten the Great Commision to our own nation. We think that we can throw money at any problem as Americans, and that will solve the problem. So as Christians, instead of taking the initiative of evangelizing our neighbors, we throw money into the offering plate and assume that the paid clergy and missionairies will do the job.

Laws do not change people, only Jesus can. Unless the hearts of Americans are changed, no amount of legislation will make a difference. Even with the Democrats in control, the Holy Spirit can transform this nation. We need revival, not legislation. Pray for revival, and get a backbone to start witnessing to your neighbors.
