The Gospel in the Stars

The Moving Pole Star

Because of the precessionary wobble of the Earth's axis, throughout the last 6,000 years different stars in different northern constellations have served as the "Pole Star". Polaris will not remain the pole star, either. The drawings below illustrate the way the northern constellations have appeared when the pole star was on different stars.

During the antediluvian period, Thuban in Draco was the pole star.
