ABOUT THE SERIESFrom Everlasting to Everlasting The objective of this series is to place the events of the Bible and the story of the Church against the backdrop of' known secular history. The series is written for the Christian who, like me, may have been confused as to where the Bible stories fit in history. For all of us that were raised on the theory of evolution, and its vast imagination of time, the early history of mankind is a vague and nebulous story. But the Bible gives a clear narrative history which actually fits the known facts. It is the intent of this work to provide a Christian world view of secular history. "We have also a more sure word" (1 Peter 1:19) in the Bible's narrative of history as our reference point in chronology. As a companion piece to the Bible, it is my intent to provide a chronological reading of the Bible (via the reading schedule) [1] as the starting point, followed by commentary on world events of that time. Hopeful1y, the reader will see why God moved through the nations as He fulfilled His plan on Earth. With each chapter is a timeline of its topic of discussion, and at the end of the volume is a complete timeline for the book. The timeline's goal is to provide a general perspective of biblical and secular history which shows how close they really are. Two lines of history are drawn: the first line, "The Righteous," are the believers in the Messiah to come, or when He came as the Christ; whereas the second, "The Unrighteous," are all who don't believe and constitute all of secular history. Each line is marked with two calendars. The first calendar line is the Jewish method of counting the years from the creation of the world as determined by adding up the genealogical ages in the Bible. It is noted as "AM"' which stands for Anno Mundo, or "Year of the World." The second calendar line uses the Christian count from the birth of Christ which has the initials "BC" (Before Christ) and "AD" (Anno Domini: Year of our Lord) [2].
The full history of creation is broken up on the timeline into six millennia. Significant Bible characters, or historical events, mark the beginning of each millennium.
The series breaks history down into several volumes. This first volume looks at Pre-history, which is the Adamic millennium and the first half of the Noahic millennium (i.e. the first 1500 years of creation). Since few records of this time exist, the Bible narrative of Creation to the Flood, is the backbone of this text. This first volume lays a solid foundation for a biblical world view to our prehistoric era. This book should dispel the imagery of dumb cavemen that the word "prehistoric" conjures up. The reader is challenged to question many assumptions of life that actually have their roots in paganism.
