Chapter 3

The Blueprint For Creation

God thought through every detail of His creation before He ever spoke a word into existence. Like a master builder, God developed a blueprint in His mind of the creation. I believe that this blueprint included these elements: time as the grid upon which all life would be laid out; spiritual, physical, and moral laws by which the living creatures would operate; and a purpose to every thing under heaven.

Time: The Grid of God's Plan

To the evolutionists, time is the magic linchpin that holds their theory together. Science fiction writers have called time the fourth dimension. I believe that time is a spiritual entity that under-girds all of God's plan in creation. "I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things not yet done" (Isa. 46:9 & 10). Time gives structure and design to life just as rhythm gives pitch musical form, instead of it being just meaningless noise. All of creation moves with the ebb and flow of life's rhythm in waves and cycles as life travels across the grid of God's time. This rhythm is designed by God. Part of being spiritual is discerning the timing of the Lord. Solomon summed it up most eloquently:

To everything there is a season,
and a time to every purpose under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate;
a time of war, and a time of peace (Ecc. 3:1-8).

Understanding that God has established the lengths of time for everything, and acting accordingly is one of the greatest acts of wisdom. Patience is the wisest of virtues. "But those that wait upon Yahweh shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint" (Isa. 40:31).
