Body Life
The Church is not part of the world system. Believers may participate in organizations that function according to the world, but the believers are the Church, not those organizations. The time coming when believers will have to leave those institutions and continue to grow underground. Those who have chosen alternative fellowships in homes, on the job, or many other ways, are the underground Church. They are the ones who will be ready to aid the other believers who discover that their organization is shut down.
Gathering
in homes provides an informal atmosphere that fosters
intimacy. Believers meeting together are
accountable to one another because they actually know
each other. They are not lost in a crowd.
Meetings
are interactive so everyone has an opportunity to
participate. Of course, in a large gathering, not
everyone will have time to participate, but in regular
attendance through the course of time everyone can be
heard.
Rapid
growth in spiritual maturity occurs because of the
interactive nature of gatherings. Maturity comes by
being a doer of the Word, not by sitting in a pew. By
participating Christ flows through believers, and faith
increases in their experience of the Lord.
With no
overhead of building programs, contribution to the
needy increases. Giving is still a part of body
life, but finances go to Spirit led contributions of
people not bank notes. This section is dedicated to
understanding how to function in a house church
setting.
